Canada's Badlands

The 46th Annual Patricia Rodeo runs August 29–31, 2025, in Patricia, Alberta. Enjoy three days of chuckwagon and chariot races, rodeo performances, and wild horse racing. Saturday features a heavy horse competition, midnight wild horse race, and rodeo slack. Sunday includes a cowboy church service and the Little Britches Rodeo. Admission is $25 per day Friday and Saturday, $20 Sunday, or $50 for a weekend pass which can be paid at the gate. Kids 12 and under are free, and parking and camping are included.

Tillebrook Provincial Park is thrilled to host Local Artists and Photographers in the park, taking place August 6-19 2025. This event will feature an indoor art exhibition and a series of outdoor workshops, all centered around the theme: Nature’s Canvas: The Beauty of Parks. 

The goal of this initiative is to celebrate local artistic talent while highlighting the nature beauty of Alberta’s Provincial Parks. The indoor display will be open to park visitors during regular hours (11:30am-7:30pm) and will serve as a space to showcase diverse interpretations of nature through various artistic mediums.

Whether you use your smartphone, tablet, or an SLR with lenses - basic photograph skills from this workshop will improve your backyard bird photos, scenic landscapes and family photos. Two hours with a professional photographer to guide you through settings, composition, exposure and basic editing.

Learn the basics of pen and ink drawings in this beginner-friendly workshop. Explore essential strokes and techniques, practice through guided exercises, and create a finished piece to take home. Only costs $20 and all materials are provided!

Fundamentals of Pen and Ink

The Brooks Farmer’s Market will take place every Thursday from 2-6pm in Veteran’s Park (beside City Hall). It will run from Thursday, June 12 – Thursday, September 25.There will also be special Saturday markets on June 7, July 19, August 16 and September 27 from 10am – 2pm.Lots of vendors to shop from as well as some new and exciting events. Music in the Badlands! Join us in the spectacular Dinosaur Provincial Park for an evening of live music and story telling. Vocalist Ty Koch is a young emerging artist based in Vancouver, BC, who performs a mix of everything from original songs with a blues vibe, classical art songs, crooner tunes, popular ballads and vintage rock and roll. Over the last few years, Ty has been collaborating with artists performing in a variety of genres at theatres, local clubs and festivals.  He has also appeared with the Vancouver Island Symphony and on two Rise Up Reality TV Tours.  Ty has recorded and released two songs: “Go to War” and “Waiting to be Found.” Come out for an amazing concert evening!

John Hewitt is often recognized as one of the hardest working musicians in Alberta and rightly so; since 2020 he has released 5 studio albums, a book, toured over 150 dates per year and run an agency/production company.  Melding poetry with melody and backed by the New Americans, John’s history of studying the masters shines in their stage show.  A master storyteller and sometimes borderline comedian, his stage show from song-circles to workshops, festivals, theatres and house concerts has been an Alberta staple for years.  John’s music is a force and the New Americans are his ship.
